Chocolate in warm months

Weather can affect chocolate in transit. To protect quality, we watch the weather all year and plan each chocolate shipment so it arrives safely and in good condition.

Warm months make delivery challenging, so we ship chocolate in coolers with cold packs. This special packaging adds to your shipping and handling charges. If your order needs it, we’ll always let you know about the added charge.

When your package arrives, please bring it inside right away. Chocolate left sitting outside too long can soften or melt.

Smoked meats

Ranch Oak smoked meats are individually vacuum packed and flash frozen. We ship them in an insulated foam cooler with a gel ice pack, and we include heating and serving instructions.

To keep them as fresh as possible, Ranch Oak orders ship only on Mondays and Tuesdays (and Wednesdays within Texas).

Large orders

For large orders, one person on our team handles your order from start to finish. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your dedicated order specialist who can help with any concerns with your order.

Storing your order

For the best flavor and maximum quality, enjoy your order as soon as you can. Typically our products don’t last long once received, but in case you need to keep it fresh longer, we recommend the following:

  • Pecans (shelled and in-shell): Store up to 2 years in airtight bags in your freezer.
  • Chocolate-covered nuts: Store up to 1 year in airtight bags in your refrigerator.
  • Candied pecans and nuts: Store up to 1 year in your freezer.
  • Roasted nuts: These don’t keep as long and are best eaten soon after they arrive.
  • Ranch Oak smoked meats: Take them out of the shipping box as soon as possible. If you’ll use them within a week, store them in the refrigerator. Otherwise, keep them frozen until you’re ready to prepare them. Heating and serving instructions are included.
